That sounds like a good price for a machine shop.
 
A machine shop can do that operation for you. And, if you are careful and specify the correct bore size, you will end up with desirable hub centric wheels. Depends on your budget. I paid 25 bucks each wheel a while back.
It's not a bad idea. I could probably get them done for that price. Local welding shop has a couple lathes. The wheels that are on the jeep don't fit the hub that tightly either though.

I'm not sure that most cars are truly hub centric anyway. The fit on the hub isn't very tight. I know on my service trucks the rim fits the hub very tight and they use flat, not tapered, lug nuts. Thoses are hub centric.
