Longer than a Wrangler, Shorter than the Dakar.

Sounds like Daimler realizes now they have an extraordinary franchise in Jeep.
My wife and teenage girls saw the Rescue and just flipped over it. Jeep will sell the hell out of that model if it comes to fruition. They do need to freshen up but not waterdown their line.
We own a YJ & TJ and our kids adore them as do ALL their friends. The appeal of Wranglers on youngsters is just amazing. Even my wife likes the TJ.

After purchasing one Chrysler, two Dodges, one Plymouth and four Jeeps (all new) over the years it appears I will be going to some other manufacturer to meet my needs.

But he said he that it is still all up. I tried drilling him on the new grand. IF it is going to be IFS or a live axle up front.. He said they wouldn't say. Hmmnnn.

A revised Liberty (at least appearance), a new Grand Cherokee, maybe a full size Jeep to compete with the new Hummer and an entry level vehicle. I am sure DC has been reading all of our posts on this site and have developed all these new products just for us. : )

If they want to sell the H3 to the masses then it looks like they need to resolve some reliability issues.
Plus H1 owners don't like the H2.
It's time for Jeep to blow away the H2 with some cool rigs.

By the way, I hate the H2...its just a watered-down Hummer for those with "short-comings", but still too afraid to drive the real thing.

Smaller, and a direct competitor to Jeeps like the old Cherokee, even looks like one. It seems to me the Rescue was on the drawing board, when Jeep saw the H3 concept popping up, and Chrysler freaked, and decided to push that suit over the 7 slot grill. Hummer is the copycat here...

Here is a question. Why would Jeep redesign the front end for the new Liberty Renegade which is just a trim level? Maybe to accomodate a live axle? Probably just wishfull thinking.

Originally posted by: ScramblerKen Kerry, I too was looking forward to getting one of the new Scramblers. I would recommend to you and others that you write or e-mail Jeep to let them know your disappointment. I have, and I know many others have too. I’m not saying we are going to convince Jeep management to change their mind, but you never know. The positive thing is the Jeep Unlimited is essentially the Scrambler with a different bolt-on roll cage and hard top. Maybe if enough customers write-in, Jeep might be convinced there is a “business case” to build them. I do give credit to Daimler-Chrysler for giving us some hope with all of this talk about future Jeeps. It’s been a while since we heard positive news that the brand was going back to what Jeep really stands for. Hopefully this is not just “smoke and mirrors”. For those that would like to see some photos of the proto-type of the Jeep Unlimited, I found these while scanning the web: http://www.cj-8.com/images/newcj8/fd796836.jpg http://www.cj-8.com/images/newcj8/fd796990.jpgPlease keep in mind these are early proto-types, and the final production version could be different. I wonder how this affects AEV? They produce stretch Wranglers and the awesome Brute pickup truck. Their stretch models have a different wheelbase than the Unlimited. I wonder if they might be able to adapt the ‘Brute’ or something similar to the new Unlimited frame? I believe the Brute is built on a 117 inch wheelbase, and the Unlimited is around 104 inch. Now if AEV could build a ‘mini-Brute’ on the Unlimited frame, maybe they could make the price more affordable than the $35K for the Brute. Just wishful thinking.

You people actually liked the Scrambler? The photos of it I saw were ugly as hell.
I'd purchase a Jeep Rescue in a heartbeat if they were made available, maybe the Jeep Unlimited will be similar in style.

Maybe we will find something like this as a possible replacement for the 4.0?
