Longer than a Wrangler, Shorter than the Dakar.
DaimlerChrysler debuted two new concept vehicles in Detriot on Monday: the Dodge Sling Shot and the Jeep Rescue.
DaimlerChrysler officials describe the Rescue as being designed for "extreme driving conditions".
From TheCarConnection.com (full article also contains info about Wrangler Unlimited and 2005 Grand Cherokee - thanks to ScramblerKen for the link):
The other concept was the Jeep Rescue, an obvious attempt at answering the Hummer H2 with a huge Wrangler. Chrysler intends to answer Hummer's expected H3 SUV with a Wrangler-inspired SUV within a few years. And it is working out a business case for an entry-level Jeep to be priced below $20,000.
DaimlerChrysler also announced 8 of the 9 new vehicles that will go on sale in 2004. Included in the list are the 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and the redesigned 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. More on these in the coming days...
