Rubicon Production Ramping Up?

A few days ago we reported that Rubicon editions of the 2007 Wrangler were in short supply and orders seemed to be stalled. We just received word today from a couple of dealers that the status of on-order models has been updated to reflect a forthcoming production date. Greg from JeepTales.com writes:

Today was the start of allocation cycle for February build dates for 2007 Jeeps.

We have had 37 orders {for Rubicons} in our sold order queue - a few have already been delivered and we had a couple under construction and a three in transit from the Toledo Plant.

Today all 28 of our pending orders went to "D" Status (Firm Schedule Date) most likely for February Construction.

Other dealers we heard from today reporting the same thing.

I spent the better part of yesterday letting customers know they would have their Jeep by March and today I emailed each of them the Vins to their new Jeeps. I've been selling Jeep for 15 years and I've gotten good at getting additional allocation. Ancira Motor Company is the largest Jeep Dealer in the Dallas Biz Center. That Helps. In fact I just checked on our Patriot orders and I see that DC loaded 20 pre-specs in order bank last night so it look like those will be here before you know it also.

I'm getting ready to order a 2 door up in the coming 3 months BUT I want to time it so that I don't have to take delivery of it until the last week of June / first week of July. I insist on ordering it because the dealers here in Detroit often order a basic package that includes both tops, automatic trans, and floor mats, none of which I want. Just a rubi with hard top only, no mats, and a manual tranny will be fine for me.
