We've been hearing from various sources that 2007 Rubicons - both 2-door and 4-door models - are in very short supply.
We contacted a couple of dealers and neither one of them had any in stock. One dealer in Texas told us that they have had a total of three 4-door Rubicons on their lot. Two of them were sold as pre-orders and the 3rd sold within 30 minutes of arriving. They currently have 21 on order for customers who have already purchased them. As for the 2-door models, they've had 6 arrive, all were ordered by customers. They currently have 15 on order, slated to be delivered in "January or February". If you should be so lucky as to find a 2007 Rubicon on the lot that isn't already spoken for, expect to pay several thousand dollars in "dealer added market adjustment". In the dealer's words, "A Four Door Rubicon is harder to find than a PlayStation 3 or a Tickle Me Elmo TMX".
A dealer in Indiana added, "There is a HUGE availability issue with all of the Rubicon models. One of the main problems is the sway bar disconnect. They built several Rubicon in the initial batch, then had to replace the disconnect on them due to water leakage caused malfunctions. There has only been a very slow trickle since. I have managed to receive 2 Rubicon only all year. I know that they have thousands in the system in BG status (good order, not available for schedule). I have some in there that have been there since August." He goes on to say that he believes there is an availability issue with the hard tops as well.
Do you have a Rubicon on order? Have you recieved one? If so, let us know about it in the comments area.

![]() Whatever...
My local dealer has about 12 Wranglers in stock, most are 2 door X models. However, they do have two (2) Rubicons just sitting there on the lot being sold for sticker (probably less). I was just up there on my lunch hour and looked over the two door Rubi and fired it up. Both of these Rubi's are silver with black hardtop. The four door is an automatic and lists for $31K plus. The two door model is basically the perfect Rubi, it is a six speed with a hardtop option and that's it. It is stickered at $27,705.00. The Wranglers are selling ok around my parts but are by no means just flying off of the lots. Happy New Year to all of you! |

![]() According to my dealer there are 62,000 unfulfilled consumer orders for the new Wrangler (two door and four door models). They only have two auto transmission ones in stock. One is a 2WD X Unlimited and one is a 4WD Sahara Unlimited. They have several stick shifts in stock.
They are being told lead times for consumer orders are 4 to 6 months. |

![]() There are plenty of the new wranglers at my local jeep dealer although no rubi's. I had the same issue when i purchased my 05 unlimited rubi in dec. 04 and had to fly from texas to indiana to get the jeep and drive it back.
I would be interested in ordering an 07 rubi unlimited and wait before i paid "thousands" over sticker. I want an 07 but the trade-in value of my 05 leaves me owing 5K.....so i'll probably just keep driving it...i like it and am glad i have a jeep but the 4 door for the family would really be nice. |

![]() I ordered my Rubicon on July 27th. Still no estimate of when they will estimate when it will be scheduled to be built, let alone actually built. In the meantime, I lost the chance to buy Rubicons that were actually sitting on a lot somwhere.
Last week I cancelled my Rubicon order and bought a Sahara that was sitting on a lot in Virginia. January 8th, I have to fly down to Virginia and drive it back to Alaska. Not really the fault of the dealer I ordered the Rubicon from, I blame the factory. I do wish I had cancelled a lot earlier though. I missed one good one that would have meet my needs by only 1 day, because I was waiting on my order. Anyway, so instead of getting a Flame Red Rubicon configured the way I want, I am getting a Bright Silver Sahara that has two things I don't want (tinted windows, and satellite radio), and is missing the engine block heater I wanted, in addition to the Rubicon goodies. I'm also paying a lot more than I would have paid for the Rubicon I ordered, plus have long-ass drive back from Virginia to Alaska with this thing. So, there you have it. (: Cheers! Jeepers |

![]() I was one of the lucky ones I guess. I ordered my Jeep Green Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon August 26 and was able to pick it up on October 16. From what I've heard most people are waiting longer and it's getting worse as described above. It is worth the wait though, I'm loving it. I had my TJ for 10 years and I loved it too but this is a great evolution and perfect for those of us looking for a little more space while still being able to take on some good trails.
To keep the lucky streak alive I was in a local electronics store yesterday when they received a shipment of one PS3 so I picked that up as well. Timing is everything I guess! |
