Diesel Fan also. This small turbo diesel is long over do for medium size truck. The torque out put
is right what I'm looking for 295 ft lbs & 164 hp,works for me. I travel NC/Va surfing fishing
quite a bit. Big wheels/tires a + on sandy beaches. When tide starts comming in you want move to higher ground PDQ. All & all from what I've seen and heard this will be great for my uses
traveling to and from fishing spots. Fuel mileage
should beat hell out of my rice burner. 2007 for
production seems long but should be worth it. I'll
probably wait till 08 to see how Gladiator does.
For the hardcore offroaders that want p/u thats
Jeep tough this could be it.

Interesting article, could it be true? I have been putting off a new vehicle purchase due to the fact i need a pickup but want a wrangler. This could be my answer just hope i do not have to wait too long.......

Jeeps "Gladiator Pickups" in the 1960's &

1970's were "Full Size Pickups". Jeep should

offer production of this "Gladiator Pickup", in

1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton models...ect. The "Rescue"

type body style, "looks Great!! Gas & Diesel

Engines and Solid Axles would be great, too.

here is my comment: Get rid of the STUPID looking spare on the side! More crap where it shouldn't be...and get rid of the dumb "Trail Rated" badges. I can drive a Civic off road on a "Trail". Is it "Trail Rated" too. Nice grill and CJ style turn signals though.

Just picked up a new 05 WK last week, as much as I needed a capable replacement for my 01 WJ. Its still not a "Working" Jeep.

If that is actually produced, I will be buying one. I've always wanted a pickup truck and that would be perfect. As long as it remains pretty much like the prototype it will be a hit.
D in a small pickup based off the wrangler. Can't go wrong. Just make sure it has solid axles.

I think we can see the ditection of the next generation WRANGLER. This is a definite step in the right direction for JEEP.

The TK appears to be a platform for several types of vehicles to be built, 2dr SWB and 4dr SWB and LWB, and PICKUP.

Just a casual observation; Does TK stand for TJ + KJ ? If it does, then mabye we will see the LIBERTY built off of the TK platform also. Mabye the TK will have a flexible platform to allow for IFS and SFA. Mabye the SFA 4dr will be called the DAKAR, and the IFS 4dr will be called the LIBERTY?

I would like to see the WRANGLER and it's variants remain convertible with removable doors, or some variation of the classic theme. I understand that DCX has to sell cars as well as meet saftey standards.

Mabye the TK WRANGLER can have a permenant center door section with the hinges, door lock machanism and the government mandated side impact protection module and have removable door skins to allow open air driing while still maintaining government regulations.

Mabye the TK WRANGLER can have a 5-panel removable hardtop that mounts to a permenant rollbar, and can be stored in the area of 1 or 2 suitcases, instead of the 1 piece bulky hardtop. This would also allow for a 5 panel softtop that could be zipped into the same permenant rollbar attachment points and stored in a duffel-sized bag.

And mabye, mabye, mabye the JEEP engineers are paying attention to sites like this and are taking notes, so keep the ccomments rolling and voice your opinions on what you would like the next generation WRANGLER to be like.
