Despite the fact that production of the 2007 Wrangler Unlimited began back on July 24th, "official" production of the 2007 Wrangler kicks off today in Toledo, Ohio.
Freep.com has more:
Chrysler Group plans to launch production of the 2007 Wrangler at its new Toledo Supplier Park today.
It began making the new four-door Wrangler Unlimited on July 24. The Wranglers are expected to roll into U.S. showrooms this fall.
Chrysler executives and dealers expect the new version of the original Jeep to help broaden the appeal of the traditional brand, from its loyal off-road base to drivers who like the rugged look but need a practical and comfortable everyday vehicle that can accommodate more passengers and cargo.
"There's a lot of excitement about the new Wranglers," said Steve Demers, general sales manager at Cueter Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Ypsilanti. "It's going to be a little more practical application. The addition of space is going to be an added convenience. We have a contact list, once the vehicle arrives, of people that are waiting for it to get here."

![]() Had a chance to drive a preproduction 2007 Wrangler Sahara diesel (export model) this weekend. What a dream! Let's hope the diesel makes it into production for the US. The four door drove incredibly with smooth agility and the engine was surprisingly responsive for a small diesel. I could definitely live with this vehicle.

![]() I can hear a chorus of echoes: "IT'S ABOUT TIME!"
I find it odd that DCX started the 4dr production before the 2dr. Usually variants are done later in a new product launch. Maybe the thought was the 4dr could be slightly more problematic, so once that was debugged, the 2dr would be a piece of cake... Either way, we're ready & waiting anxiously. |
