Convoy to 6th Annual Trail Ride

Convoy to 6th Annual Trail Ride
I'm heading out to pick mine up from having freeze plug replaced. Had it flushed again and new coolant. We should be on the road around 8pm CST.

One nut is spinning keeping the heater housing assembly from coming out, you know the one, directly under the battery.
The boys are making a parts run
Vac canisters, ignition wires, battery, vac line, and a nut splitter. :)

this tread is making me nervous

We headed out about 3hrs ago. All is well so far.

Nut splitter didn't work in this case so had to grind the nut off.
Heater housing is out, core installed.
As I'm typing 2 deer just walked by me within 20'
I'm not sure how to post pics from my phone. Thinking I need an app.

I'm enjoying this thread and hearing everyone's progress. Me? Well, I'm drinking a beer and making sandwiches. I don't have far to go. I'll see you guys to tomorrow.

Posi, where are you? Do you have a good place to work on your 'new' jeep?

Hi Dave, we're staying with Bill and Carol and working in their garage.
Finished the heater core swap on Bill CJ
Found a couple cracks in my fuel float and used some Jb weld, then decided it wouldn't be tried in time so going without. No one around had a sending unit.
Installed skid plate.
Ignition wires, vac advance canister, cleaned ignition point, fuel filter, and belt
To do list, make up some knuckle pudding for the closed knuckles, lube chassis, sending unit, brakes, and clutch.

Do you still have studded tires?

And what is knuckle pudding?

Sounding like a good time guys and Gals!

To a safe and FUN trip for all

Yes, on the studded tire, way down on the list to swap out. However the 4 tires on it are in good shape.
Remove 2 pounds of mud and grease to get to the knuckle fill plug. Every zerk fitting was very thirsty for lube, went through a tube and need to get more.
Brakes and clutch inspection, and set the points and timing to do list.
Carol and Bill fixing up some food now.

We made it to Silverton.
