Can anyone offer insight on a LED headlight conversion in a CJ7? Lots of supposed plug-in LED headlights on Amazon, but I notice Crown Automotive and Quadratec include a Canbus module??? Obviously, I don't need it to communicate with a computer, but does it control LED headlight flickering? Or is that even an issue?

Painless makes a universal kit, part # 30814. Speedway Motors has a kit for half the money (around $50) of the Painless, part # 910342630. But you can easily do it yourself for under $20 if you can cut/splice a few wires. Here's a thread where I described how I did mine with no kit: Headlight Relay Mod

Thanks for the leg work you provided and thread.

Just did H4 upgrade. Installed new relay harness $12.00, 2 Osram bulbs $20.00, 2 oem glass headlights $39.00. Took 30 min. Great upgrade & no visable difference from stock look. 1st 2 pics are old sealed beam Sylvania's low & high beans . 2nd 2 pics are the H4's. Well, l I've spent a hour trying to convert & upload the pictures. Got converted to
.jpg now says file size too large. Anyway take my word for it.
