I think I have a problem with the electric fan install, it won't fit!
I have slightly more than 3" on the back side of the radiator and slightly less than 4" on the front side . The fan will require at least 4.25 inches.
Has anyone done this with a CJ5 and/or a l6?:wtf:

Most of the write-ups I've seen were with V8's.
This is such a common swap google should come up with a million hits.

did you have to offset it to one side of the water pump pulley? or was there room between the pulley and the radiator?

I ran a ford taurus fan in my CJ5 with the 258.

If i remember correctly there was enough room for it to be safe enough for offroading but not much more. A ford contour will be a better fit most likely not to mention a better over all fan. Plus it doesn't have the amp draw issues the taurus has.
Also it fits the radiator better as far as coverage.
