Frame is ready to get rolling again!

Went with a textured powdercoat that the coating guys recommended as better for rust prevention. Plus it looks good! Derek at V3Jeep Shop had me on the phone when it arrived back at the shop and he yelled "that frame looks bad @$$" can't say I have ever heard someone say a frame looks bad @$$ but I will take it!

Paint prep is underway!!!

Ended up not going with the show car guy...he was just too much money and this is a daily driver, mt. biking, mild offroading Jeep...the Ford dealer paint shop is 3 doors away from the Jeep restoration shop and they have the former head painter of the local Jeep shop working there for side jobs...he has painted a few Jeeps over the years to say the least and wanted to do this project. We came up with what we both think is a fair price...anxious to get it done now!

Best part for a big shop is the booth they have! Holy down draft!

PLZ-Use the correct respirator, when you spray paint in an enclosed booth. :notworthy:

And now we wait for Line-X to get caught up...this will be a long two weeks for the metal.

Here a few more close up's.

I found fellow Liberty Edition owner and his decals are still intact! He even measured them and sent them to me. Going to recreate for it and pumped

Line-X is done...we had a miscommunication however.

They didn't line-x over the lip of the door jam and hardtop...I am not happy at all...the worst part is it is another $350 to have them re-tape and shoot those parts. The way the budget is working out I am going to have to hold off and do it later...once it is all scratched up from feet and the hardtop

Restoring a Jeep via phone 5 hours away has finally bit me...

All parts are out of paint, except the top! I am anxiously awaiting pics of the doors, my painter At Byerly's in Louisville is very happy the way they turned out...

After a lot of discussions, research, and tough descisions... the work to smooth the top wouldn't have been perfect no matter what unless I was doing it and had a summer to work on it...so we decided to retexture it all because the top is flaking.

Because of this we are going black instead of the planned marching paint of the tub...the finish won't match and it was unanimous it won't look good.

So the hard top will be black...but...I have all finishes of black already...textured flat frame, gloss POR15 axles and suspension, and matte powder coated wheels and hinges...the shop has taken the wheels and are going to try and match them as best as possible.

We shall see...

Sure going to be a great looking jeep

PLEASE rethink black for the top-It will make the inside an oven on sunny days.

Leaving the inside white... but not sure what other choices I have. White would look terrible...Dark brown/nutmeg maybe?

I will likely have the hard top only on it from November- March and live in Chicago so the extra sun heat will be nice?
