Build Thread Project JPSK8
Body work is in progress on the tub. First two containers left for STX this week with the household stuff, the wife's JLU & my utility trailer & tractor. Hopefully will be in paint in a couple of weeks.

Quick catch up post on the progress. We've been on island for 2 months now (except for me going back to OH last week to finish cleaning out the outbuilding...work will be starting on the CJ7 soon & I sold my M100 trailer to a buddy) and the container with the Scrambler arrived a couple of weeks ago. I was running around the night before it was picked up getting the tires mounted, picking up the last few pieces from the painter, & assembling as much of it as I could. Our episode of Caribbean Life airs tonight at 9 pm eastern/8 pm central and is already available On Demand.

That blue is just really sharp looking. Did you fabricate that front bumper or is it custom made ?

Thanks. It's a really interesting color...actually supposed to be a pearl, but I chose to skip the pearl top coat. It's actually a metallic, so it looks sorta like a pastel until the sunlight hits it. I was driving behind a Focus RS one night that was that color & went hunting for it. Toyota has one that's just a few shades darker/bluer that I tried out, but I like this one better.

That's actually the Fly-N-Hi/FST front bumper off of my CJ7. I saw the custom version of it back in the late 80's & fell in lust with it, so when they finally made a production version around 2003 when I was redoing my CJ7, I jumped on it. I have the matching rear bumper too but I'm not using it on any of my builds, put it on for shipping.

A little bit of activity as Covid was kicking in...got my crates of stuff (mostly parts & tools) that didn't fit in the last container & picked up a new toy in Miami...

I was going to ask before but forgot, when you loaded your scrambler into the container did you tie down/anchor down it in case things got shifted ? My buddy ships out containers out of Miami also. He had problems in one that I know of

The shipper (Crowley) loaded it. Put the front bumper up against the nose of the container, nailed 2x4's to the floor behind the rear tires, & anchored it with ratchet straps via the rear d-rings & side steps.

I shipped a pickup south 1 time with ( CCT ) probably at least 30 years ago as deck cargo and it turned out well.
