Look in at harbor freight at parts washer and parts cleaner fluid says safe and biodegradable. Read reviews and some people love it. Some don't. Guy said noncorrpsive. Says don't use on alloy aluminum orcopper. Must be corrosive then right.this stuff any good. Just. Know I have a lot of aluminum, alloys and aluminum parts. Rookie. Any help appreciated

I use Simple Green for everything from carbs to gun parts.
Rinse well and oven dry. Oil the steel.;)

Mineral Spirits makes the best part cleaner, available in any home store. I've used it for years. Also known as "Stoddard Solvent"
Safe for any metal, cleans oil, grease, and just about anything else off parts.

Diesel works well and much cheaper.

I use the gunk parts washer solvent in mine and have no problems, not cheap but it works good. Coca Cola is a good alternative with nasty steel. Aluminum maybe not so much, evapo rust works good also

Mineral spirits works great. Only issue is it eats through latex gloves. I try to keep it off my skin as much as possible. It’s probably not a huge deal but as I age, I’m getting more aware of my health. That goes for any chemical though. And mineral spirits is relatively safe for the skin. I’ve been wanting to find some decent chemical gloves but haven’t gotten around to it yet
