I have a 1981 CJ7 jeep with a inline six 258 motor and I have oil dripping out of the air cleaner and this motor is new i just put it in about 1500 miles ago.

The oil is coming from your PCV valve hose
Check your valve to make sure its clean and working properly

What kind of valve cover is on it? Reason I ask is they should have a baffle right below your breather hole to deflect liquid oil but still allow crankcase ventilation via the hose to the air cleaner. Does the air cleaner still have the plastic cup and filter sponge in it? This should catch any oil within the vapors as it breathes and condenses.

Better hope it's the PVC valve and not blow by...that would mean your rebuild didn't go that well.

Blow by

Broken rings I'll bet.

Compression test will tell.

Haven't rolled it lately have you? :D

That jeep is wicked!

Look at the articulation and rear steer!!
