Hi all,
I bought a 1984 CJ7 back in January and have been sorting though its problems. First, I guess it's best to paint ya a picture of what I have and work completed so far. 1984 CJ7 with a 4.2 and a stock 4 speed manual transmission. Replaced front & rear spring bushings, new heavier shackles, repaired frame and floor, new body mounts, It has a 2 1/2" Suspension lift, new tie rod &ends, new front axle joints. New front sway bushings &steering shock, new water pump, PO installed a Weber carb and I just completed a Nutter bypass.
Getting ready to drop the manifolds to correct a leak this weekend.
My question is now that it has the Weber & Nutter bypass. How much of this vacuum stuff can hit the trash can? I know vac to the distributor and pcv valve needs to stay. But what about the charcoal can? On top of the valve cover there are three vacuum operated switches, can they go? Below the carb attached to the intake is a vacuum diagram, can that go?
If I can figure out pic posting I'll add to.

I'm not strong on the I6's but KEEP the charcoal setup, eliminates fumes.

You can get rid of it all if you wanna, I would keep the EGR valve tho, the thing under the carb...but thats just me. It helps the motor run more then it hurts it... well as long as it is functioning properly.
