Need a Google search guru or someone with a cable crimper.

Have searched every which way I can think of, can't find an answer.

I need to crimp new battery cables for the CJ. Cable crimpers are $$$$$, so I want to make my own that I can use in my press.

But can't seem to find measurements for the dies. Plan on using nuts to form a hex pattern or a 6 point socket cut in half length wise, weld them to some plate.

Kind of the same principle as the bender I made for my press.

Any one have a hex crimper that can provide the measurements or good at searches?

Here's the bender I made, crimper will work the same.

I would think Graingers or Mcfadden-Dale would have them. I use vise grips, The shrink wrap covers it up anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions, but pretty much set on an all around hex crimp.

I'm trying to picture a hex crimp and I just cant

Here's an interesting thread, from someone needing good current (electric car). Not hex, but can't imagine hex is necessary...your call...

The die sizes I've found vary so much on the cable and type of end...

Thanks for the suggestions, but pretty much set on an all around hex crimp.

May I ask WHY your set on the hex?
99.9% of the crimping tools do a dimple crimp.
