Engine Serial Number location?

Hello,

On a 86 CJ7 i6 engine where would I find identification numbers?
Is the VIN stamped on it or some other number that might correspond to the VIN?

The vin is not stamped anywhere on the engine. The location that ST posted is the engine-day-build-code. The engine is likely original if the first digit is 6 and the fourth digit is C
