I'm pinching a few pennies to get the little '82 ready for the fall season. It came with a Bestop Supertop that was loose all over and very hard to see out of. I scrubbed the heck out of them and got fair results as seen below:

They don't look to bad in that pic but their certainly not clear. Any insight on something I can use to get them a bit clearer than this?

Mcguires makes a number of products for cleaning plastic windows. No first hand experience with them.

First hand experience with their Plastx, it worked well but requires some effort. I put an old clean sheet on the carpet in the living room. Our top from the 7 zips out each window, so i could work on them separately. Some places had to be "cleaned" and buffed several times, especially the sides where it rubbed against the roll bar. Have fun, my arms were very sore, but it worked.

Plastics are similar to metal and wood when it comes to prepping them for use. :) You need to use a plastic polishing compound. A couple come to mind. There is the "Mother's" headlight polish kit, and there is the https://www.amazon.com/NOVUS-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU three part polish. The Mother's kit comes with everything. :) The Novus kit you will need a buffing wheel. You can use a drill to operate the buffer. You use a compound that varies in the amount of grit in it. Start course and work up to fine. It's like sanding anything, start course and work up to a fine grit. The drill and buffing wheel will save your arms and hands from exhaustion. :D

Ok so it's not like glass. I won't get distorted views by polishing it , good to know. Definitely will go the buffing wheel route. The kids car has a headlight that needs done as well

years ago talking to an older jeep tech was told easy off oven cleaner works? have never tried it though.

I have been using Lemon Pledge since Wifey keeps some around the house but the above mentioned products sound great also.

Turtle Wax Polishing Compound works very well for soft-top plastic windows and plastic headlights. Use with distilled water.
Get this-My Mom would use powdered toothpaste to clean the windows of her Cessna 180 airplane. Worked very well also.
