I recently did a clutch on my step fathers jeep 77' CJ7 , with i believe a T-150 Transmission and a Dana 20 Transfer Case . while Transmission and Transfer Case was removed i replaced output shaft seals on Transfer Case , also oil pan gasket and mics. other repairs. i installed the new flywheel, bushing, clutch disc, pressure plate and throw out bearing.
after installing i dropped the shifter back in fired it up and found that i only had first and reverse. It would not go into nuetral and over to get to second or third. It will go into nuetral fine but has no "H" patern to it. I have read a few things about the shift rails beign out of sync, but i havent found anything showing how to sync them back up. anything would help.

From the items you listed non would have affected the way your Transmission shifts, EXCEPT for the shifter itself. Pull it back out and fiddle with the Transmission until you understand how it works. Honestly it sounds like your second/third shifter forks aren't aligned poperly. In the end, this should be an easy fix.

yeah i wouldnt any of the replaced parts would make a difference. I was going to pull the shifter out tonight and push each shift rod back and forth a few times and see if it frees up anything. thank for the reply.

What you are describing would be inside the Transmission , in the shift tower or top of the Transmission to be exact. It sounds like your reverse/first shift fork is properly engaged in the sliding gear, but the other fork missed the second/third sliding gear. This is why you are only getting 1/2 your gears to work and no neutral switch over to the second set of gears. If the other work you did was bad for some reason, you'd have a clutch that doesn't disengage, oil leaks and some other annoying beu non fatal problems. This is a much easier fix that pulling the Transmission again.

I see a "thank you" . If you got her up and running tell us about it. Tell us what you learned. Somebody less experienced that you might learn something, heck we all might learn something.
