Had a few hours in the garage tonight.

The new yokes for the Dana 44 and 30 showed so I put in the ubolt style removing the strap style along with new pinion seals and nuts.

I did not paint the new yokes but instead just put some clear on them so they do not rust.

Oh man that's a sweet motor, don't forget that you need a 360 specific flywheel because it is balanced different

Alec, YOU do very nice work!:notworthy:
When you clearance the calpers, make enough room to side a wooden popsicle stick between the caliper and the rim. Why-Rims flex some....
On the pinion nut. Center punch the nut at the slot in the pinion's shaft to help 'lock' it in place. Then use a stripe of red paint from the nut to the threaded shaft as a marker to see IF the nut has moved when you inspect the driveline.
Respectfully,

I ground off just enough to stick a popsicle between the rum and caliper, and of course repainted the spots!

My torque wrench only goes to 170 ft/lb and I need 210 on those pinion nuts...

Good reason(excuse)to buy another t'wrench........
Think about the cost of the damage that can happen IF that nut comes loose.

lol that's good

I picked a used torque wrench today that covers up to 250 lb ft. Only $20 too!

I would ck it's calibration before use.
Torque wrenches are not the tool, to go the cheap on.

There's no replacement for displacement!! AMC 360 was prepped with a new flywheel and all new clutch components!

I added new motor mounts, brackets, and new V8 frame mounts.

There's still some work to do. I'm swapping out the manifolds for ceramic coated shorty headers, it needs a new power steering pump and lines, and few odds and ends.

Just a couple of small things done this weekend.

I installed grounding straps on each side of the block.

I also picked up some differential tags showing the gear ratio. I blasted them and put on some paint.

It's all about the details!

wow dude that looks so good, I love the tags that just tops it off, for future reference do the rounding straps have a vehicle application to be able to search for them?

On the GND straps. May I suggest that you use external star washers, as they 'bite' into the metal for a better electrical contact.
Run a strap from the frame to the main tub also. ;)
