1974 cj-5 4cylinder?

Inherited a CJ5 and was told it was a 1974. It has a 4 cylinder in it
that looks original,but i'm thinking this year didn't come out with 4 cylinders
I haven't had a chance to look into the serial numbers yet. Does anyone know if
the 74 had option of 4 cylinder??

Either the year is not correct, or the engine was swapped in.

No pictures yet. Haven't brought it home.

Lots of us here know for sure.
No factory 4 cylinder engine for 1974 Jeep models.
