One of our sources let us know that a cold weather testing facility has recently seen 4-cylinder Wranglers with 6-speed transmissions. Combine this rumor with the diesel Wrangler frame we reported on recently and things may be coming together. Canadian Wrangler Unlimited Pricing Released Are you Canadian? Here's a snippet from the auto123.com article: DaimlerChrysler Canada recently announced pricing for its all-new 2004.5 Jeep TJ Unlimited. The new model, a stretched version of the venerable TJ, will be released with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $29,195. "For those who always wanted to drive the icon of off-road vehicles but wanted more space, the legendary Jeep TJ Unlimited has taken the limit out of interior space," commented Ron Smith, Vice-President of Marketing, DaimlerChrysler Canada. "The extension of the TJ was not limited to just stretching the wheelbase. Check out the entire article here. Toledo Jeep Assembly Recalling 85 Employees WTOL-TV recently posted the "State of the City" address by the Mayor of Toledo, Ohio, Jack Ford. In the address, we learned something we haven't heard yet - that DaimlerChrysler will be recalling 85 employees that were previously laid off from the Jeep assembly plant. Here's a snippet of the address: In December, we received the great news that Jeep will invest $2 billion in their new facility and in Toledo's economy.
