The Jeep sales numbers for April, 2006 are in and the news is less than positive. Compared with April, 2005 sales of all Jeep models are way down. In addition, 2006 sales compared with 2005 sales through April are virtually unchanged.
Chrysler Group partially laid the blame on the exceptional sales of 2005:Against an exceptionally robust prior year comparison and in-line with overall industry performance, Chrysler Group reported U.S. sales for April 2006 of 190,095 units, a decrease of 4 percent (8 percent decrease unadjusted) over April 2005 sales of 206,546 units.
