I just found out the Wrangler Sahara 4-door only has a factory leather seating and appearance group ($1710). Also the exterior colors Steel Blue and Rescue Green are GONE! Jeep will also offer up a chrome appearance group ($1035) and (mirrors and grill).
Would you buy a Wrangler with leather?

![]() Until I bought my Grand with leather, I felt it was an unnecessary luxury. Then I had a kid and found it to be indispensable. No cloth of any kind holds up like leather does to the onslaught of grime that comes along with kids. So all the way on the leather! I just hope that any fabric areas it'll likely have would be the YES fabric to make it truly practical.
By the way, Chrysler's been offering for a little while through dealerships the Katzskin custom option as an aftermarket upgrade. At the moment I can't find the site for it though. I do wish Jeep would offer the Ultimate package though. That concept was quite agreeable. Go light on the chrome however ![]() |

![]() The wrangler Sahara for 2009 will be offered in Yes cloth with a leather option. Steel blue and rescue green are gone and sunburst orange and modern blue seem to be "IN". BTW mopar sells a heated seat kit that works great!

![]() Yep. I'd buy it. Call me a wussy yuppy if you want!!
My XJ has leather interior. While I'm sure it's got more years and miles left to give me, I want my next Jeep to be a JKL. Sometimes you want some creature comforts. I like the leather... |

![]() Do you mean to say that ONLY the 4-door Sahara has leather available (and not available with the 2-door and other trims), or do you mean to say that the 4-door Sahara is ONLY available in leather (and therefore cloth trim is not available)?
I'm looking at the latest edition of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited ordering guide, and the only way you can get leather on the Wrangler is with the (optional) AAG Mopar Leather Group (available only on the 4-door Sahara), which gives you "Katzkin Deluxe Leather 2-Tone Seats" and few metal-look interior pieces. They don't even show leather in the exterior paint color/interior material chart for the 4-door Sahara - only premium cloth. Rescue Green and Steel Blue Metallic are still in the paint chart in the ordering guide too. |

![]() ...and I thought electric windows was over the top...
That might open the door for other palatte choices. I'm hoping they bring back one of the orange colors... either that burnt orange metallic (Sunburst Orange Pearlcoat, now available on the Patriot) or the later flat orange color (Impact Orange, now not available)... Or how about the classic GoManGo Orange? That bright blue ("Electric Blue" I think it's called... the Nitro color) might be cool on a JK, too... Then again, I'm color blind... |

![]() maybe I'm a wuss, but I loved the heated leather seats in my wifes 99 WJ. After a long day the heated seats did wonders for a sore back. All too frequently I woudl have the air on cold and the heated seats on high.
Yes, it's supposed to be a utility vehicle, but why can't it be comfortable to? Remember when the TJ's were launched? We were told it was to "cushy" by those die hard CJ folk that liked having their kidneys knocked out of them. If Jeep offered a heated seat in a Wrangler model, I'd seriously consider it. Winter wheeling would be so much better. |

![]() Rediculous, but i'm not surprised. Only a yuppy would own a Wrangler with leather seats and that's the market Chrysler is after. This is a utility vehicle and should be tough and durable. Leather, power windows and the wussy V6 engines are not either. What's next white wall tires?

![]() I think it's a good idea, something that differentiates the Sahara from a loaded X model.
Rescue Green stuck around longer than it was supposed to have. It was originally supposed to have disappeared when the Detonator Yellow became available. Steel Blue has been replaced with Modern Blue Pearl Coat. |

![]() No, but I understand the idea - they're trying to minimize the number of different vehicles you can buy, exactly as they did in the 1980s, to cut costs and defects.
