The Michigan Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America is raising funds for its programs by holding a raffle for a completely restored 1945 Willys Army Jeep. This authentic army vehicle comes fully equipped as if it had just rolled off the assembly line. The engine has less than fifty miles.

Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each or 3 for $10. The winner will also have the option of receiving $15,000 in cash should they decide they don't want the Jeep. Second and third place winners will also receive cash awards of $1,000 and $500.

The Paralyzed Veterans of America is a Congressionally Chartered Veterans Organization established at the end of WWII. Nationwide their membership is over 17,000, all of whom have suffered a spinal cord dysfunction. The Paralyzed Veterans of America administers numerous programs including veterans' benefits counseling, wheelchair sports, spinal cord injury research, and promotes the rights of all disabled citizens. The new Hemi V6 sounds interesting. Torque is what moves a Jeep and where that
torque is delivered in the power curve is also important. Too many higher tech,
higher horsepower engines do have better mileage, higher maximum horsepower,
but less available torque in the all-important lower speeds and most common rpm
driving ranges.

Hopefully this V6 will be an all around improvement over the I6 in mileage, power,
durability and emissions. With a hemi configuration they could have a standard and
a high performance option which could give V8-like performance with v6 economy.
You can do stuff like that with hemis so easily.

I've just placed an order for a 2001 Wrangler Sport (actually with JeepWarehouse.com, which has been a much better shopping experience than a conventional dealer!). Bill at JeepWarehouse confirmed most of the 2001 changes reported here and in the original article, though he didn't think that the dual-top option on a Sport would come with deep tint windows by default. Pretty much everything else was in line with these reports.

I contacted On All Fours about 2 weeks ago when I ordered my 2001 TJ as a service to his readers and anyone else interested in purchasing a new TJ. I just registered with your site, and am impressed with the frequent updates and informative articles. Other interesting new features of note are the removable side steps, and optional tinted soft windows (standard with Sahara and dual top option). It is also interesting to note that in the heading "Strategy" on the dealer info sheet, DC refers to the Wrangler as "...the Icon of the Jeep brand...", perhaps hinting to the future?

It's great news to hear that Jeep is addressing
the noise problem with the Softtop. I have a
2000 Wrangler with the Dual Top Option. When
doing 65mph with the softtop up,the noise is
deafening! You long for the hardtop. The four-ply
top will be just like a regular convertible top.
I assume Bestop will offer it for sale on ealier
Wranglers. When they do I'm ordering one and
selling my softtop. Now if only they could get
rid of the plastic windows that scratch when you
breath on them!!!!!!!
