The Toledo Blade has a story on the recent success of the diesel offered in the Liberty; however, the real news is what followed in the article about the next Jeep to feature a diesel. Here's a portion of that article:
"Toledo Jeep Assembly will begin building a second diesel model for the U.S. market when the redesigned Jeep Wrangler is offered with the alternative-fuel engine, said Dan Henneman, chairman of United Auto Workers Local 12's Jeep unit."
Check out the rest of the story at the Toledo Blade

![]() It's about damn time we get a diesel option in the Wrangler and the (they better build it) Gladiator. If any vehicle on the planet is more appropriate for a good four-banger diesel than the Wrangler (and derivitives) someone please tell me what vehicle that might be. Diesels in Wranglers is a no-brainer.

![]() Hurray for DCx!
I have been waiting for a family sized, convertible, 4wd, that gets good fuel milage and still has decent power. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch... but Thank You DCX! If you build the TKL CRD Rubicon, they will come. Who/where do I mail the deposit to? |

![]() Jeep, use the resources from DCX, put diesels in the entire line up ASAP and watch the sales soar.
I want a Commander, but will wait until the diesel option is added. Hopefully as a 2006 1/2 update. |

![]() I have my worries about Compass and Patriot. Both of which "can" turn out good, but I'm still waiting on some more details on those. As for the TK, I like what I've seen so far, and I'm really starting to like what I've been reading. I'm a little more confident that Jeep is making a great successor to the TJ. Cheers to DCX for doing something right

![]() Awesome. I've been waiting for something like a TKL/Rescue Rubicon with a diesel. A lot like my old Landcruiser BJ60 (3.4 liter diesel, RIP) which was great (but too rusty).
I hope they use the more modern 3.2 liter diesel from the MB E320 CDI instead of the 2.8 CRD/VM Motori. Maybe it meets California emissions. |
