Liberty2004 Jeep Recalls
Posted by mike on 2004/3/16 23:00:00 (2050) reads

Most Reliable? Really?

Didn't we just do a story about how reliable the Jeep Liberty is?

KLAS-TV.com out of Las Vegas is reporting that the 2004 Jeep Liberty is being recalled for a remote keyless entry software bug. Here's the snippet:

the 2004 Jeep Liberty year has been recalled. On some SUVs, certain remote keyless entry input may cause software to activate the door lock motors continuously. This can cause the lock motor bearings to overheat, possibly making the door lock system become inoperative. Owners should contact DaimlerChrysler at 800-853-1403.

Also in recall news, about 15,000 2004 Grand Cherokees are being recalled "because their engines could stall without warning and cause a crash." See the full article here.

All-New Grand Cherokee to Debut in New York

Chrysler has a new "chief operating officer": Tom LaSorda. TheCarConnection.com has a little article on him. The article states that:

The Jefferson North Assembly plant in Detroit is being revamped for the introduction of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is set to make its official debut next month at the New York Auto Show.

Uh, I'm not associated with www.wkjeeps.com in any way. The second story was about the next-generation Grand Cherokee, so I thought I'd do everyone a favour and provide a link to the best source of information about it. I posted the links to the images separately because they are no longer displayed on that site, but they still reside on their server. Someone usually asks for an image, so I thought I'd get that out of the way early. I apologize if my comments seemed to be advertising another website - that was not my intent.

CJ Jack,

We've mentioned www.wkjeeps.com on our site numerous times (see, we just did it again!), but please do not abuse our (usually) unmoderated "Reader Reactions". Feel free to post the link to your site when you have something to comment on regarding the story, but please refrain from advertising without relevant comments. Please don't take it personally, this is our standing policy.

Usually, we just delete inappropriate comments (ads), but you run a good site and we like you!

Thanks,
-mike

here is my comment: I just had my one month old LIberty not start on me. It wouldn't start with jumping it and I had to have it towed. Interesting to see the above electrical recall because the dealer doesn't know where the battery is draining from. Thank for the info!

It's not showing the images that were discussed here in January, but they are still on the server:

Ummm, thats a bit harsh Mike. The article you posted mentioned the all new Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the reader commented with a url to a site where people could view more on the Jeep Grand Cherokee. If you ask me, his post had relevance.
