WranglerNo More Rubicons, Lara's Wrangler
Posted by mike on 2003/4/21 23:00:00 (450) reads

We've gotten a report that Rubicons production is done for the year...

One of our readers recently sent us some info about the popular Jeep Wrangler Rubicon edition:

Just when I thought that it was safe to go under invoice... I finally got seven Rubicons in, and Jeep announced that the Rubicon has been built out for the 2003 model year. That's right folks, they are no longer building any more Rubicons. We are stuck with whatever inventory we have on our lots. I cannot even price them out anymore on my systems, as they have been completely removed from my screen.

In other Wrangler news which you seemed to have overlooked, Solar Yellow was returned to its rightful place in the Wrangler lineup, replacing the much maligned Inca Gold. I love Solar Yellow, I hope that Jeep never discontinues it again.

Also, a few weeks ago we reported that Lara Croft of Tomb Raider fame will be turning in her Land Rover for a Jeep Wrangler - the guys over at Rockcrawler.com have a photo of Lara's new ride...

I bought an '03 Rubicon in Solar Yellow two months ago. Even the dealer didn't know they were making them - I had to convince him to do a search of the region and there it was, at another dealer only 40 minutes away. I actually drove down at 10pm that night just to see it in-person on the other dealer's lot before I made my decision.

Next day I drove back to that other dealer with the salesman from my local dealer - we took another Rubi to swap for the yellow one, and he let me drive it back up to his shop even before it was mine.

Solar Yellow rules! /j

I was told by one of our local Jeep dealers that
Daimler-Chrysler starts their model year
changeover earlier than the other major US auto
makers. He said that they would probably do their
planned shutdown to changeover to 04 models at the
end of April or early May. I don't know if this
is true or not, but he claimed that after the end
of April they could not accept any orders for
03's. Could be a scare tactic to try to get you
to buy now. Does anyone know

What do you mean " go under invoice " ?

Also, I'm sure Jeep will keep Rubicon for
04MY.

At least it is a Jeep. Mine is starting to look "pretty" too, but with the NV4500 and the Atlas II under it it "rocks" no pun intended.

Looks like Hella lights on the window light bar....I think that looks slick.

And it is just a movie after all. The Rubicon "looks" great. I think it will be a great sales boon for Jeep.

not to start an arguement, but D90 she had was no ordinary britmobile. that thing can wheel! while theyre rare here in the states, theyre all over europe.

just my opinion but, the tomb raider rubi looks like a total show car.

here is my comment

Someone should post a list of aftermarket accessories on Lara's Rubicon....I'll bet that will sell alot of parts!

At least this hot little vixen shows some real taste and gets rid of the Britmobile for a real ORV.
