I still like the AEV Brute better, but heck, this is not that bad. I do find it interesting that the wheel base on the new Wrangler 4-door is the same as the Brute.

I think like many of you have said, this is not bad, but needs a little work. For me:

1) Diesel option. With the price of gas, and to be competitive with other small trucks, I think this is a must.

2) How come the spare tire is not hanging off of the tail gate?

3) Speaking of the tail gate, how about making it a combo drop down and swing gate. Best of both worlds.

4) Needs a sliding back window.

5) Opera or some side windows. I fear you have a bit of a blind spot on the sides.

6) Roll bar with driving light up on top.

7) Cover over the pickup bed.

8) Side rails - that belt line looks odd.

Will they build it? Maybe. At least it is based on a current production model, so that helps. My guess is 2009 might be a good time to have this. The Commander is likly to disappear in 2009, and there are rumors the Compass (not the Patriot) could disappear in 2009 as well.

Maybe they will have this beast available for viewing at Camp Jeep this summer.

The paint may be tan (supposedly "Hearing Aid Beige"), but it's glossy, not flat or even matte finish.

It would be pretty easy for Jeep to build this for us... if they wanted to -- they've already got all the parts in production (with the possible exception of the halfcab). The body is one they developed for military use by Egypt and Columbia (basically a 2-dr Unlimited tub), they just put it on a regular Unlimited chassis (the mil-spec trucks get a lengthened chassis with rear leaf springs and D60 rear axles).

Well, it's not the Gladiator, which I absolutely love. However, I think that if they made this it would sell well enough to justify a heavy-duty Gladiator version like Rubicon mentioned.

Still, I'd buy it.

The quesiton is: will they build it? I don't think they will simply because they never build the no-brainers. Nice to look at though...

I really do not like the execution of this. It is the wrong color, the interior is gray and the exterior is beige. I "paint shopped" this and gave it a new color raised the bed rails and added some aluminum wheels. It really does look good when it is messaged. I also made an extended cab version and called it "TJE". The main mistake that Jeep makes every time that they try to revive the Scrambler is that they do not raise the bed rails to make it balanced.

I do like it, but need the 4-door Unlimited. I guess it would be good to have the capability to turn the unlimited into a pickup though. If I only had an unlimited supply of $Money$.

It's not the Gladitor, but it beats the h#ll out of the pickup they currently build.

I have kicked myself everyday, multiple times, for selling my Scrambler back in 2000.

Jeep, make this one happen, please! Put it into production and I will order one the day orders are accepted.

This is the nicest Jeep to come out, concept or production, since the original Rubicon and the Dakar. And in my opinion, nicer and more useful then the current Wrangler Unlimited.

And if nothing else, take a queue from all the excitment over a Jeep pick-up and give us a short bed/cab version of the Unlimited. That should be a real easy one to produce. But would still rather have the JT.

This is the Jeep I have been waiting for since I was old enough to afford to buy the vehicle of my dreams! I can only hope that DCX will listen this time!

Jeep should build this with 35s and then display it on dealer lots on top of a crushed Compass.

I agree with RUBICON 100% except for the Compass. I think Jeep should keep it but beef it up to be a contender with the EVO and WRX/STX. It has the potential to be a decent rally vehicle.

Jeep should build this, along with a heavy duty version of the Gladiator concept. Like others have said, DCX should milk the new Wrangler's success.

Jeep should keep the Liberty, Commander, and Grand Cherokee as the more luxurious off-road capable vehicles. They should beef up the Patriot with more ground clearance and better tires and should scratch the Compass altogether.

All Jeeps should be available with only 4WD/AWD and have a choice of gasoline, diesel, or diesel hybrid engines.
