In the strangest turn yet in the Chrysler-Group-is-on-the-chopping-block story of the past week or so, Yahoo! News is reporting that there's a chance and DaimlerChrysler will hold on to the Jeep brand if Chrysler Group is sold.
German-US auto giant DaimlerChrysler is considering holding on to Chrysler's four-wheel drive Jeep if it decides to sell its loss-making US subsidiary, the business daily Handelsblatt reported on Thursday.
Quoting company sources, the newspaper said that DaimlerChrysler was considering taking the Jeep brand out of Chrysler and holding on to it as an independent niche marque, should it come to a sale of Chrysler.

![]() I would hope that this is more than just a rumor. DCs interest in diesel would likely assure that Jeeps finally get the diesels they need.

![]() This would be much better than any of the other options.
I am glad they value Jeep enough to hold on to it. |

![]() Even though this is just another rumor, I like this solution better than any of the other ones I've heard before this.
