One of our readers recently stumbled upon a cammoflauged 4-door Wrangler being tested in an high-altitude area of Colorado. He was able to take numerous photos of the vehicle, including some photos showing part of the interior (through the side windows), a possible seam in the roof (indicating a removable hard top), and even managed to speak to the engineers.
Here's the description of some of what you can see in the photos:
I got a bunch of shots of a 4-Door 2007 Wrangler. I have 2 shots where you can make out the dash (1 from driver side, 1 from passenger side). tweeters are built in, HUGE speedo, fancy CD player. Can kinda see under it in a few shots. Rain gutters above the 4 doors and possible proof of a PANELIZED roof.
These photos are much better than any other recent cammo'd photos - and the resolution is excellent. The only downside is that there is a $1 "donation" to view the high-resolution photos (the low-res photos are free). Check out the photos here.
If you do pay to see the high-res photos, you'll not only get access to the photos, but you'll also be able to read the photographer's comments to each photo, including some strange comments made by the Jeep engineers.

![]() I have over 2500 reasonably high resolution photos hosted on Flickr for $25 a year. I'm sure there are other low-cost hosting alternatives for this relatively small collection of photos, regardless of bandwidth.
I don't blame you for wanting to make money off of them, but I'd sooner try to sell them to some publication for one lump sum. I don't think this nickel-and-dime fee is even scarcely worthwhile for you or potential viewers. |

![]() 20074door don't worry about what the jerks are saying on here. If you haven't noticed all they do is complain, if you weren't charging a dollar to see your pictures we would just be reading a bunch of post about how the new Wrangler is just going to be a "soccer mom mobile" or about how much the 3.7 V-6 "sucks" or how they need to buy a 06 Wrangler before they stop making "real Jeeps"

![]() I thought your pictures were pretty good, they were worth a dollar. I think you are right about the top having a removable panel but I don't think the whole top will be panelized, I think it is just going to have a removable panel over the front seats, like the sunrider soft top on the Unlimited. I think the rest of the top will come off like the current Wrangler and there will be a soft top. I think this because...
1. Earlier this summer some people had posted info on some things they had seen at a Jeep consumer focus group survey they had attended, at this survey they got to see what the 07 wrangler would look like and fill out a survey telling what they thought of it. They also said that Jeep had a top with a removable panel over the front seats on display. here is a link http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=172110&highlight=2007+wrangler+door 2. Here is a link to some 07 4 door spy photos on rockcrawler.com http://www.rockcrawler.com/features/newsshorts/05august/jk_spyshots.asp If you compare the tops of the two Jeeps the front Jeep looks like it has a soft top, notice how its top doesn't look as tight or squared off. 3. In 20074door's spy photos you can see a roll through the window of the Jeep. If the Jeep was going to have an integrated hard top with removable panels then why would they need to have a separate roll bar. 4. The seems in the camouflage covering the test vehicles are just were they would be if it had a traditional hard top with a removable panel over the drivers seat. Well, that's just what I think. We will have to wait a few months to see if I am right. |

![]() Hey 20074door,
I hope I did not start something here, 'cause I was not trying to start a controversy over the buck per view you are seeking. However, I do suspect it would have raised some eyebrows even without my initial comment. But I would like to state for the record that the intent of my comment was to indicate that the pictures are not significantly different from any we have already seen. Regarding the fixed/removable panel roof... the info. already out on the net about it does indicate that it will likely be the way this rig is built! Yahooooo! Oh, and yes there have been pics available that showed part of the dash maybe not the tweeter but I must state that as a true Jeep nut I don't really care about tweeters personally. Unless a trimed up stereo is standard that is an option that I would not consider ordering. I'm thrilled for you that you got a chance to see the rig up close and talk to the DCX folks about it, I wish it were me!. However, I (and I suspect others) would still like to hear about what they told you, if they told you anything significant. Now if you get a chance to get some really great unmasked images of this new rig and some realy high quality detailed shots of the interior, then hey I'll be the first in line to give up a $1 (probably more) to see it. I do applaud your audacity (should I say cohones) in going after the shots I hear that some of the staff surrounding these test rigs can become beligerant and down right stupid in their actions. I've heard of people in cars being run off the road as they shot pics.....talk about a law suit waiting to happen!!! |

![]() The pictures are good, but nothing is shown that you can't find anywhere else for free. Not worth $ to look at for sure... I was expecting more. Besides the point, as an avid Jeep fanatic, I wouldn't charge all of my peers to look at what I found!

![]() come on guys... why you gotta be A$$HOLES about it? if the guy wants to charge a buck to see something he owns then let him. I sunk way into my wallet and found a buck to look at his pics and they weren't earthshattering but they were the best pics i've seen.
also for the Die-hard jeepers out there who will never give up their current jeep i hope you all dont have TJs or YJs or cherokees because those arent true jeeps either... God forbid that someone might want some comfort in their daily driver... what about the dudes who have the crawler CJs on the weekend and want to drive the commander or new wrangler to work on the highway each day... why dont you guys go play in some mud and lighten up a bit... to each his own... |

![]() I figure since people pay lots for looking at women undressed that Jeep diehards would also pay to look at a new Wrangler unmasked. At least $5 a peep.
Hey you guys, were only talking a dollar! It's not that big a deal. The cost of a soda. |

![]() I'm not paying a dollar to see Wrangler Spy Shots, this is the internet, after all...If anything, this guy should be donating his money to Hurricane relief...
Anyway, I have liked what JEEP is giving us...seems like they are keeping tabs on this website to get our opinions (i.e. 5-panel roof, flat belly pans, 4 doors, possible Diesel engines and 6-speed transmissions) At least they werent paying attention to OOJ!!!! |

![]() Let's see..Pay a $1 to see a "new" Jeep.
As if no one knows what a Jeep is.... I'd rather take my $ and donate to Jeep's Serviceman (Operation Gratitude) drive for our guys/girls fighting in Iraq. THEY deserve it..not some nitwit with a digital cam. Besides REAL Jeepers are keeping their present Jeeps 'til they die. John Wayne wouldn't fall for this joke.... To paraphrase that character who runs "Soup International" on Seinfeld...."NO JEEP FOR YOU!" |

![]() It was worth a $1 to see. There are some shots that show some views we haven't see before. Plus, if we make it worth someones time they may try extra hard to get some other spy photos, maybe even something without camo.
Now if he was charging $5.......?? |

![]() The photos are not that great and don't really show anything that we have seen elsewhere.
I'd have been more interested in hearing about the engineers comments. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the buck or two this guy seeks. |
