WranglerJeep Mountain to Rise in Detroit

DaimlerChrysler will be building a large outdoor display area for next month's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. In an attempt to cope with the limited space available inside the convention center, a large part of the Jeep display will be across the street from the main entrace to the exhibit hall, on the property of an adjacent hotel. The outdoor display area will center around a "mountain" that will be used to (we assume) display the all-new redesigned Wrangler and all-new Jeep Compass.

The Detroit News has more:

"We feel the outdoor space will be a great opportunity to showcase Jeep's capabilities to the world media and the general public," said David Barnas, Jeep spokesman. He declined to provide further details, preferring to maintain an aura of "mystery" around the introductions.

Jeep also plans an all-new display inside the auto show.

The "mountain" will rise from the lower plaza level of the Hotel Pontchartrain, which sits directly across Washington Boulevard from Cobo's main entrance.
