The all-new 2005 GC is making the rounds - in disguise. Here's a snippet from RockCrawler.com:

The new 2005 Grand Cherokee was spied recently during testing in the Southwest. Ace spy photographer, Brenda Priddy caught some shots of it. We've looked the photos over carefully and it appears that the new WK is a bit longer in the wheelbase than the outgoing WJ. Rumors of an extended 7-seater Grand are also making the rounds.

The new Grand will certainly have an optional Hemi engine which is finding its way into just about all of the larger vehicles put out by the DaimlerChrysler American family. A diesel-powered Grand is also expected.

Looking at the photos, we can see a nice-sized differential and solid axle in the rear but it looks like Jeep is giving the front solid axle the axe (or this is a 2WD).

We'll find out more about the 2005 Grand Cherokee in April when it bows at the New York Auto Show.

For those who have seen those photos of the apparent WK from WKJeeps.com in one of the previous articles and thought they looked doctored, you can clearly see the difference in the headlight configuration from the one featured in this article even under the camo. Im looking forward to seeing what it really looks like in the upcoming autoshow...
