PatriotPatriot Off-Roading Video

Chrysler Group appears to making a big push lately to make sure everyone knows that the new Jeep vehicles are off-road capable. First came the Compass off-roading video a few days ago, and now we're getting some Patriot off-roading footage. Enjoy.

 Re: Patriot Off-Roading Video
I agree with the others. Kinda of soft "wheelin" but I think this new Jeep is pretty neat. Looks good, gets great mpg and looks to be ok off-road.

My one complaint/comment with the design are the bumpers. The front I know is for aerodynamics, but looks low and will get damaged quickly if going off road. Could you replace these with steel like in the Wrangler? Prob. not.

Anyway, looks like the little Jeep that could and I sense will be very popular - now
if they could just cram some 3rd row seats like all the other jap, korean, & even BMW now, I might get serieous about buying.

I sure like the idea of 30 MPG (Regular gas cost $3 a gallon in my city), and I really like the looks, but if they have to drive an easy trail that fast to get through I have to doubt the "Trail Rated" badge. Three wheels in the air and high speed are not fourwheeling with finese in my book.

Check this out from a previous post on this site. Much more impressive. The You Tube video is pretty lame.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of some of the newer Jeep models that are coming out, but I do understand the need for DC to try and get into other marekt segments. As for this "wheeling" video I didn't really see anything a Subaru Outback couldn't tackle.

Yes, I'm still old fashioned. Yes, I still think real Jeeps come with solid axles. But I have to say I'd be shocked if this thing wasn't a success. It's just an attractive SUV. Compared to its Rav4, CRV et al. competition. This thing looks great.

That being said... holy crap, its spends a lot of time on three wheels!
