GC numbers drop in preparation for all-new 2005 model

Early response to the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee has been positive as the company prepares for the launch at Jeep Premiere Night on October 21, 2004. "comment" don't you have a name?
I suppose larger dealers in larger areas will get more than the smaller dealers in small towns.
You must live in one of those smaller towns.

Our local dealer has two as of last Thursday. I am sure there will be plenty to go around real soon. They will push to get rid of the 2004's this fall and they will sell lots of the 2005 to the people that have been waiting to trade-in for the new model.
When I am ready to trade in a couple of years they will be offering rebates I am sure.
Anyone that pays sticker or over sticker is nuts!

Shipments didn't start arriving at dealerships until September 27th and I am sure that Jeep is trying to let dealers sell as many of the remaining 2004's before swamping them with a huge shipment of 2005's.

My local Jeep dealer got their first WK (a Deep Beryl Green Laredo, 4.7L V8) in this weekend. They have it listed for sticker price and had no problem showing it to everyone who came in.

The national premiere is set for October 21st so do not expect to see a lot on dealer lots before then.

Hey, one of those Libbys is mine! :-)

As for the WK, the only 2 I've seen in person, were pre-production models, back in the body mask stages. I don't think any of the dealers around here have them, and if they are, they're hiding them. This is sad, because I live in Detroit, the home of the WK!

the dealer in my area doesn't have a wk on the ground yet. i was told that they have 3 coming in the next few weeks. doesn't sound like much of a debut. i don't understnad dc, apparently they have built about 5,000 of the new wks, whereas in previous years they build around 15,000. does anyone have insight to this fiasco? i've been waiting to take a look/drive the new 05, but there's none to been seen....any answers out there?????

One of the dealers in my area has the '05 Grand, and they want $3K over sticker. They were also picky on who they allowed test drives.

I also received notice that later this month, there will be a Premiere night at my Jeep dealer to showcase the new Grand and Unlimited and the Updated Liberty.

It could be Jeep is being a bit cautious on the roll-out of a new product, so they are slowly arriving to the showrooms.
