Another Special Edition Wrangler is introduced

DaimlerChrysler recently introduced a new options package for the Wrangler - the "Rocky Mountain Edition". The specs include:

  • Exclusive Rocky Mountain Edition decal
  • 4.0L Power Tech I-6 engine
  • 5-speed manual transmission
  • Command-Trac part-time four-wheel drive transfer case
  • Dana 44 rear axel
  • 30" Goodyear GS-A tires
  • Graphite fender flares
  • Diamond Plate Sill Guard
  • Two tone cloth seats
  • Classic round halogen fog lamps
  • Silver center stack Bezel
  • 15x8 inch alcoa cast aluminum wheels
  • Full-size spare with matching wheel
  • Tow hooks
  • AM/FM/CD with overhead speaker pods
One of our readers summarizes this as a Columbia Edition / Tomb Raider Edition hybird, noting that on the Jeep Web site, there is even a typo referring to the Columbia edition (look in the seat description).

We haven't been able to find any prices for this new Edition, althoughwe expect it to be in the same range as other recent "Special Edition"Wranglers - somewhere in the low $20Ks.

Does anyone know when they will be available. My area dealers are clueless? I have been unable to get any info out of anyone.

The grand cherokee and the liberty are exactly the same as the columbia edition vehicles, But the wrangler is the X model with Sport and Tomb- raider upgrades, the group should be a $2300 package like the tomb raider.

Jeepin.com posted information on all of the new Rocky Mountain Edition Jeeps, and also points out a number of errors that were made on the Jeep.com page. The article also has a picture of the Rocky Mountain Liberty, which seems identical to a picture I have of the Columbia Edition Liberty. Can someone confirm these are actual pictures?

Is this similar to the Wrangler Extreme Sport currently offered in Europe? They also offer a Grand Cherokee Extreme Sport and a Cherokee (Liberty) Extreme Sport.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2004 ROCKY MOUNTAIN EDITION (RED). THIS IS MY THIRD WRANGLER AND I LOVE IT--THE ONLY THING I DO NOT LIKE IS ITS PAYMENT. THE RIMS LOOK GREAT BUT I THINK I WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE IMPRESSED IF THE JEEP HAD A STOCK LIFT TO IT. OTHER THAN THAT THE JEEP HAS EVERY OPTION THAT I CAN THINK OF. HAPPY JEEPIN GUYS!

Well I purchased a silver Rocky Mountain Edition, and all I can say is I love it!
It looks sharp, runs sharp, and feels great.
I really like the looks of it.

took delivery of Rocky Mountain Edition yesterday. It looks nothing like the pictures on the web site or the brochure. The only things that are accurate are the seats, center stack, and wheels. Don't get me wrong, its a good looking jeep, just not exactly what I expected.
