Hey everyone go to www.detnews.com and click on autos section... The detroit news has the official press relese pictures in the paper and online today... I wish they would drop the electronic 4x4 though.. It's not a bad looking jeep.. Just basically the inside of the new grand with an extra row of seats.. The outside has styling cues of the old cherokee and someone said maybe a hint of liberty up in the headlights and side front quarter panels?? not sure on that one, but at least we have alot better pictures to look at now.

The Commander is actually quite classy. I like it!
Would I buy one?..no

Wish they would've just named it Grand Wagoneer...and at least have a decor package with woodgrain applique be an optional feature; for those who don't want to let go of the past great Jeeps....

The day I bought my Liberty, as I was driving it home from the dealership, I was given the finger by some fat POS white trash hag and her fat kid in an old TJ.

AutoWeek also has photos of the 2006 Grand Cherokee SRT-8. This vehicle will not be trail rated but should blow the doors off the new TrailBlazer SS.

What a sick looking Jeep! I love it! Awesome to finally see the final photos.

Jeep owners (including many Wrangler owners!) in general don't seem to know the Jeep wave.

I make a motion to add Jeep Wave instructions to the sun visor, next to the rollover and airbag warnings.

OnlyOneJeep, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they offered the woodgrain applique as a Mopar aftermarket option. They had one for the Liberty a few years ago (not sure if they are still making it).

The comment earlier about the guy with the Liberty being flipped the bird by "a fat SOB" in an old TJ reminds me of a story from 2002 I had forgotten about. I and my friends are car guys- (sell parts)..we were leaving an annual trade show for our Co.. when all of a sudden one of our vendor reps pulled up with his "spankin New Jeep Liberty!!" he gets out..beaming like a proud father..(because he is known for ALWAYS having the most unique vehicle..i.e. NEWEST) showing off his NEW ride....and I swear...on my muddy YJ...that when he asked "Hey, guys; like my new Jeep?"...the 8 of us paused...snickered..and one man..The owner of the store..says loudly (was a little tipsy)..."That ain't a F***in' Jeep!" as the rest of us BURST out laughing...It was truly a defining moment...and after 4 years of mud under "her" feet that Liberty STILL is the laughing stock of Jeep....***True Story***

Love the looks of the new Commander. Notice the grab handles on the back? The design is very clean, ridged, and very Jeep. The seats even fold almost completly flat! I love it. Im not in the market, but I want to buy one!

I waved to the very first Liberty I saw on the road when they came out, and I was happy when the Jeeper waved back!

The straight on view shows a stacked round lights similar to the CJ and the new Liberty. I think we will see stacked round lights in the next Wrangler too.

I've seen it, just posted on Autoweek.com. The spy pics were accurate-in my opinion too much like the Cherokee but still a rugged looking SUV. They should have gone further with the design but it will still probably sell we..

Those photos and press release seem to be real!!!! I like the look and its only 2" longer with the same dimensions as a grand cherokee. Did some one say land yaht???? The grand is the smaller of its competitors!!! This is a big win for jeep!!!!
