Jeep Engineers, If you are reading this, Why not add a small electric motor to the output shaft of the 6 speed trans for Hybrid Gen/Regen and EV-only mode driving---Greatly simplifying the transmission vs. the 2-mode automatic trans. This would allow the driver to put the trans in neutral, flip a switch, and drive in ev-mode direct drive (shift-less) without using the engine, and when the engine is required, a simple shift into 3 or 4th gear would activate the engine for conventional driving.
