In what appears to be an "look how tough the Compass is" marketing ploy, the journalists-only Chrysler Group blog released some video on YouTube showcasing the Compass in all its offroad glory.
They've tried this tactic once before - when they invited auto journalists to the Oregon coast to test drive the Compass in both on- and off-road locations. Here's our writeup on that event.

![]() I'm not sure that I would classify that as"off roading". I'm pretty sure my mom's suburu outback wagon can do that.
The Compass definitely has it's market segment, and may even be able to pass for a Rally vehicle, but I can never see it as "off road". |

![]() Ok, my idea for the Compass... redesign the front end and the silly rear door handles. Raise it up slightly and put more aggressive tires on it... call it an Eagle.
