Grand CherokeeGrand Cherokee SRT in the Top Ten
Posted by mike on 2007/1/25 12:51:52 (636) reads

The Grand Cherokee SRT showed up on a recent top ten list. Before we spill the beans on the category, let's take a look at the list:

1. Murcielago LP640
2. Bentley Arnage
3. Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
4. Ferrari 612 Scaglietti
5. Bentley Azure
6. Grand Cherokee SRT8
7. Bentley Continental
8. MB ML63 AMG/R63 AMG
9. Lamborghini Gallardo
10. Aston Martin DB9

Intrigued? With company like that, who wouldn't want to be on the list? Well...unless you've got money to burn, you probably don't want to see your vehicle on the list. But, then again, if you have money to burn, then you'd probably wouldn't care about the the top 10 least fuel efficient cars for 2007.

Hey, every car on that list gets better mileage than the Grand Wagoneer. And the Grand Wagoneer sipped gas compared to my old Chevelle Malibu. I'd like to see the "top 10 least fuel efficient cars costing $40,000 or less for 2007."

Re: Grand Cherokee SRT in the Top Ten
People bitch about gas price fluctuations, but consider this:

1) With a 20 gallon tank, every $0.25 increase per gallon costs a "whopping" $5 extra for a whole tank of gas.
If you go thru a tank a week, that's an extra $260/year.
NO BIG DEAL.

2) A Jeep getting 12mpg instead of 17mpg gets 240miles instead of 340miles on a 20-gal tank of gas. So the guy getting 12mpg has to buy an extra ~8 gallons to make up that 100 mile difference. At $2.00/gallon, that's $16 extra. If you gotta do that every week for a year, it's still only ~$830 extra per year.
Still NO REASON TO TAKE THE BRIDGE.

By far, the biggest outlay for gas-chuggers like the SRT line (which I love) and enormous SUVs like the H2 (which I like) is the initial extra cost of the vehicle.

Most mortals can't afford $40-70K for a gas-chugger. The friggin' payments on it are probably $800-1400/month for a 5yr loan! So drive it if you can afford it, but SHUT THE F UP ABOUT THE EXTRA $16/WEEK YOU HAVE TO PAY, OR WE'LL COME & TAKE YOUR SRT AWAY...
