Jeep Liberty sport-utility vehicles and Dodge Neon small cars are being investigated by a U.S. safety agency after reports of overheating in dashboards and steering columns.
The Liberty inquiry covers 2006 models, after three reports of fires that appeared to start in a heating and air-conditioning unit under the dashboard, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said yesterday. The vehicle is made in Toledo.
