WranglerExclusive: Camouflaged Wrangler On Detroit Highway
Posted by mike on 2005/12/20 9:39:33 (2891) reads

One of our readers sent us a few quick photos he snapped with his camera phone while he was out driving in Detroit (East bound I-96 between Telegraph and Middlebelt, if you must know). There's nothing new to see in these photos, but we thought we'd post one of them anyway since Jeep News has been reeeaaalllly slow in coming the last few weeks. That will all change in a few weeks, though, with the North American International Auto Show kicking off in January and the expected debut of the all-new Wrangler and Compass.

Do you guys think some after market company will make a soft top for the 4 door wrangler similar to the cab tops back in the Scrambler days? It would be nice to have an interior cab compartment and exterior utility space with this extra length.

I was in Target last night Xmas shopping and they have a Jeep RESCUE toy that looks exactly like the spy pics. Hint of things to come?

When they first introduced the Rescue concept and then the Gladiator I always kind of assumed that this was a disguss for the next gen Wrangler. They sort of threw everyone off because of the size of the Rescue but if you think about it where would the Rescue concept even fit in? The fact that they have made scale models of the Rescue also tell you that they have been working to guage public reaction to the new Wrangler design.
With all this mind, I still wonder if the Jeep Patriot is really not just a heads up on the next gen Liberty and not to be made side by side with the Compass.
It would only make sense as many have wondered how the Patriot would fit in with the Liberty, 4 door Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. Just a thought.

Could this be the Patriot, rather than the Wrangler 4-door? I recall an official press release about the Patriot and it seems to be somewhat similar to this picture. I don't remember any kind of official release about the 4-door Wrangler. Any thoughts?

Explnglke,
I'm pretty sure this is the 4-door wrangler, the wheelbase is longer than the Patriot and the white trapezoid rear window looks like many other spy photos of the 4-door and 2-door Wrangler.
I can't wait to see a fully topless...4-door Wrangler.
