A number of readers have filled us in on the details of the Jeep bike story we published last week.
It seems that Jeep bikes have been for sale at numerous outlets for some time now, and the report that we saw was in reference to Jeep bikes going on sale in "more mainstream" bike shops in the United States.
You can check out some pictures of the Jeep bikes at Jarek's Jeep bike page. Another reader said that Jeep bikes have appeared in the Jeep Provisions catalog:
There's a "Jeep Overlander" with full suspension ($399), a "Jeep Laredo SE" with front suspension fork ($399), and the "Jeep Grand Cherokee" with full suspension ($1499).
In addition to Jeep bikes being widely available in Canada, we've also had a report that Jeep bikes have been available at Camp Jeep and at some Jeep dealerships in mountainous areas in the U.S.
Apparantly, the Jeep bikes are manufactured by a bike company which has a license to use the Jeep name - anyone know what bike company does the manufacturing? Email us and let us know!
