The Chrysler blog has an article about Amy O'Connell, a
driver for Jeep Test Track and Camp Jeep. While the article is laden with details, it does provide a nice perspective from the other side of the fence:

People have all sorts of reactions; sometimes they scream, they laugh, they swear, they're completely shocked by what these vehicles are capable of—and it shows. I love seeing the reactions every time we tackle a seemingly impossible obstacle; people just can't believe what a Jeep is capable of.

Re: Behind the Scenes with a Jeep Test Track Driver
Like most people before my first Jeep I had no idea what real off-roading was all about. Since SUV commercials show 4x4’s zipping down flat dirt trails, it is a real shock to climb boulders, bog through mud holes and twist through narrow winding off-camber trails.

When I went to Jeep Jamboree in 98 (with my new 97 TJ) I had the same reactions of disbelief and excitement. Actually, at first I was stressed that I was wrecking my new Jeep banging over rocks and bogging through deep mud. Then I was amazed at how my Jeep got through these obstacles and just how tough it was. I had so much fun that by the end of the weekend I was hooked and have become a helpless Jeep addict ever since.

Now I own a 2005 Jeep Rubicon and still off-road every chance I get. Check out some pics of my adventures on my Jeep tribute website at www.jeep4ever.ca

Re: Behind the Scenes with a Jeep Test Track Driver
Amy and her associates at the Test Track Simulator do a great job by introducing the non- Jeepers to the driving experience that comes with Jeep. Most of the folks that experience the Test Track will look at Jeep Products with a more positive impression of the unequaled capability and security that Jeeps offer. It is unfortunate that so few people are exposed to this terrific sales tool.
