MiscellaneousBig Site Changes Coming

Very soon, mike's totally free jeep news will be getting a make-over and a name change - we'd like your input.

After almost 7 years (holy cow!) of publishing, we've decided to give mike's totally free jeep news a complete makeover - along with a host of new features. Even more exciting, we'll be changing our domain name - we've decided that it is about time we get a dedicated domain name for our little slice of the web. We can't announce the new name just yet - still working the details out.

Why are we telling you all this now? Simple: we want your feedback and your input - and maybe a little help. What new features would you like to see in the updated site. Before you send us anything - we'll say this: we're adding the single most requested feature: forums. What else would you like to see? Let us know.

As for the help we're looking for - we want to the new site to be more of a community. We're looking for people who would like to contribute news content, book reviews, and photos. In exchange, we're willing to help you publicize your blog, web site, or just about anything (as long as it is family-friendly). Email us if you're interested.

First up though - we're looking for Jeep-related photos to use in rotation in the main header of the site. Specifically, we're looking for high-quality photos that are at least 800 pixels wide. Keep in mind that we're looking for cool photos - not just photos with cool Jeeps. Again - if we choose your photo(s) to use, we'll add a link of your choosing (again, family-friendly link) to our site. Send your photos to jeepphotos@gmail.com.

Maybe you could bribe some Jeep insider(s) to get us more Jeep news faster. I'm planning on ordering an Unlimited but if I thought a 4 door Wrangler,diesel,6 speed manual, was coming in the next couple years I would wait. I've given up holding my breath and pouting until they give us the Dakar. I also like the idea of polls. I believe someone at DC reads your site and polls might give them more insight into how us Jeep freaks think. Thanks for a great site.

Thanks, Mike, Your site has been a favorite of mine for most of those 7 years. I can only say that more is better, but don't take away from what you've been doing.

Don't change too much, especially the articles / comments set up on the front of the site, much better then somthing too complex or formal.

Thanks Mike for a great web site!

I don't think the basic format should change much. I
have always found it to be a great source of news and
an easy place to give and receive feedback.

As far as what to add. It's not so much an addition, but
more of a bring back. I think that polls should be taken
more often on different topics. that's it. Good luck to
you, and thanks again.

with links to parts and stuff... maybe get some
kind of sponsorship or ad money to help support
this site. just a thought....
