March 2003 sales up 4% compared with March 2002

Chrysler Group reported sales of 201,941 units in March 2003, a three percent decline compared with March 2002, calculated on a day-rate basis.

"Despite the economic effects of the military conflict in the Middle East, we're still seeing car and truck shoppers in Chrysler, Jeep(R) and Dodge dealerships," said Gary Dilts, Chrysler Group Senior Vice President - Sales. "The Chrysler Group held its own in March because we're cutting through the clutter and reaching consumers."

Many of the Chrysler Group's volume models posted year-over-year gains.

Jeep Liberty posted sales of 14,760 units, an increase of 22 percent compared to last year when there were 12,594 units sold. Also making sales gains was the Jeep Wrangler, with sales of 5,497 units, an increase of eight percent compared to year-earlier levels. Total Jeep brand sales were up four percent compared to March 2002.

i think that it would be really cool if they brought back the CJ. even if it was a concept car it would be nice to see that DC actually knows what a CJ is...lol

New York Auto Show is in a week. Anybody want to speculate whether or not Jeep will have something new to show? I would be surprised if they didn't, considering they have been so quiet at the first shows of the year.

Car-Truck went dark suddenly, after a rather cryptic reference about something happening behind-the-scenes. Seemed to intimate that they'll be coming back in another form but I'm not sure. I hope so, it was a great source of news (along with this site).

Well on a different note..
It seems this site has gone very quiet! Nearly dead! Its seldom updated so I'm guessing there's
little news in the Jeep world! Not to mention,
has Car-Truck News gone down also?!
