Grand CherokeeChrysler Slowing Down Production - But Not For All Jeeps
Posted by mike on 2006/1/20 6:36:00 (920) reads

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Chrysler will slow down production of most of its vehicles during the next few months to help reduce inventory that has backed up during the past few months.

While most of the Chrysler assembly lines will slow down, it appears that one that won't be slowing down is that of the Grand Cherokee.

Here's a snippet:

Led by strong sales from Chrysler Group, DaimlerChrysler AG increased U.S. sales by 4.2% in 2005, Autodata Corp. reports. But the increases slowed in December and some models, including the Dodge Ram and Durango, had declining sales for the year.

Eberhardt wouldn't provide sales or production figures, but he said the slowdown will occur across most of the Chrysler Group line-up with the possible exception of the Chrysler 300 and some Jeep products. Both the 300 and Jeep Grand Cherokee have been selling well.

Chrysler Group also launched last week its latest incentive program called Overstock Bonus Cash, which gives buyers $1,000 cash back on most Chrysler Group vehicles.
