Car and Truck News has an excellent article and pictures of a couple of new Jeep demonstration vehicles that were shown at the recent SEMA show in Las Vegas. For those of you when haven't heard of the SEMA show, it is the largest automotive aftermarket trade event in the world.
The two new Jeep demonstration vehicles that were shown are the 2000 Wrangler Mountain Biker (in electric lime green) and the 2000 Cherokee Total Exposure. The article describes the Mountain Biker:
The front and rear bumpers also resemble those found on the Icon. Jeep describes them as an "Integral fascia bumper system." Regardless of the name they look slick. Of course the Mountain Biker is outfitted with a bike rack system. The bike theme as been carried into the interior of the Wrangler which features custom urethane seat covers (the same material used for mountain bike seat covers) with an integrated "hydration system" in each seat. Two custom Wrangler mountain bikes round out the package. The Mountain Biker concept rides on Goodyear Wrangler MTR33 x 12.5 R15 LT tires mounted on 15x8 custom sprocket chrome and brushed aluminum wheels.
Here's what was said about the Total Exposure:
Billed as the ultimate vehicle for photo safaris, the rear third of the Cherokee has been opened up to create a rear viewing platform. The area, complete with two swiveling stools is accessed by a small fold down ladder built into the rear of the vehicle. The front of the Cherokee features a custom bumper and light guard with integrated winch.
