The Boys at Inside Line have it upon themselves to make some videos of the new vehicles that debuted at the New York Auto Show. Two of them being the Wrangler Unlimited and the Patriot.

Re: Videos of the Patriot and Wrangler Unlimited I read a previous post regarding Low Sulfur Diesel fuel. It contained some info that needed to be corrected...
SULFUR is not a lubricant to an engine, and the absence of sulfur in and of itself will not cause increased friction and heat. SULFUR is actually corrosive to an engine and decreases the combustion efficency of Diesel Fuel. The chemical process of SULFUR removal from Diesel Fuel reduces the Lubricity of the Diesel Fuel, which would cause increased friction and heat, but this is not because of the absence of SULFUR. This condition is also easily correctible by blending in a Lubricity additive such as Biodiesel. 2007 Diesel Fuel will actuallyincrease efficiency for Diesel engines, old and new. The Europeans have been running this formula for years |

Re: Videos of the Patriot and Wrangler Unlimited I just went to the NY Auto Show today. I had a look at both the 2 and 4 door Wranglers. The 2 door is REALLY nice. It looks great up close. There is decent room behind the rear seat too. You can fit a few upright troller suit cases behind the seat.
The 4 door is pretty nice also. I'm just not used to seeing it with 4 doors so it will take some time to get used to. It has a ton of room. One thing of concern though. I talked to one of the Jeep guys and he said that he had heard that the 2 door Rubi will cost in the low 30K and the 4 door Rubi will be mid 30K. I hope he is WRONG with this info. That's too much. Of course the 2 door will cost more than the 2006 but 4K is too much of a difference. I plan on buying either the 2 or 4 door depending on the price but if the 2 door Rubi is over 30K it will be very hard to justify. |

Re: Videos of the Patriot and Wrangler Unlimited It's nice to finally see some running footage of the Unlimited. That will be my next Jeep once I turn in my 04 TJ Rubi in Feb. I could really care less about the Patriot. It really seems like Jeep might need to take out the Liberty. Ever since the Liberty came out, I have never heard anyone* say that they even remotely liked it. Even people who ended up getting one right away. They all disliked it shortly thereafter. And I live in Michigan, where there are plenty of domestics on the road.
On an related topic, has anyone ever seen any running footage of the hurricane concept? I'd love to see that doing something impressive and not just driving around on flat ground like the publicly released photos implied. |
