WranglerDiesel Cummins Jeep at SEMA

From AutoBlog Green:

Cummins has announced it will supply 4.2-liter V6 and 5.6-liter clean diesel engines to DaimlerChrysler for light-duty vehicles. We can get an early look at the potential of such deal at SEMA next week when Jeep shows off a custom Wrangler Unlimited from the Mopar Skunkwerkes group. This teaser email I received says it's powered by a 4.2-liter diesel. Code named 50 JK, the hardtop Jeep features custom bumpers, 4-inch lift, 35-inch tires, carbon-fiber hood, Dana 44 axles front and rear, GPS and full saddle leather. This one's sure to be "Trail Rated." All totaled, Chrysler will have 65 vehicles on display at SEMA. Wonder how many will be boasting fuel efficiency?

Re: Diesel Cummins Jeep at SEMA
Yes unfortunately this is old news from Fall 2006.
Even sadder is the fact that the Model Year 2008's will begin soon and there have been NO annoucements from Chrysler-Jeep regarding a CRD Wrangler for 2008.
It's quite obvious that until Daimler can unload the Chrysler group they are not in the business of building better vehicles - they are in business of selling a car company.
BTW-All the signs at SEMA indicated it was a 4.2L Cummins - but the Engine shroud had 3.0L CRD written on it just like the Grand Cherokee CRD.
We sure would love to see some pictures of a Cummins in a Wrangler tho!
